Job Title - ICT Technician - (Ref: ICT)

The Southern African Customs Union (SACU) has adopted a Vision and Mission statement and a new Work Programme for promoting sustainable development and deeper integration within the SACU region. The SACU Secretariat hereby invites suitably qualified and experienced citizens of the SACU Member States to submit their applications for the following positions.

Job Title for the Position:

ICT Technician - (Ref: ICT)

Main Purpose of the Job:

To provide technical assistance and support on the implementation and maintenance of the IT infrastructure and system in the Secretariat.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

* Procurement and deployment of ICT equipment
* Installation and configuration of workstations and servers
* Provision of desktop, applications, servers and networks support
* Configuring Secretariat`s computer networks and security systems
* Monitoring and maintenance of the Secretariat`s networks and security systems
* Systems and networks administration
* Carrying out periodic backups to enable recovery from failures
* Maintenance of the Secretariat ICT assets
* Maintenance of the SACU`s Website
* Assistance with implementation and use of ICT online media tools and products
* Managing the process of stack and consumables
* Assists in development and review of ICT Policies and Procedures


Educational Qualifications Required:

* Bachelor`s degree in Information Technology or equivalent. A professional certification qualification would be an added advantage

Relevant Work Experience and Competencies Required:

* At least 5years` experience providing ICT technical assistance in an organization
* Hands on, troubleshooting experience
* Good interpersonal and communication skills
* Experience in maintenance of servers and workstations
* Experience in maintaining high standards of IT security
